Aviation Gin Creates Sequel to Peloton Ad

Following Peloton's controversial holiday ad titled "The Gift That Gives Back," the internet wanted to know more about the actress who portrayed the lady with the perpetually sad eyebrows. Thankfully, no one had to wait long before she turned up in a sequel to the two-wheeled torture.

"The Gift That Doesn't Give Back" is not a Peloton ad. It is an ad for Aviation Gin. In the ad, we see the Peloton wife, now identified as actress Monica Ruiz, staring blankly with a friend on either side mouthing indistinctly to each other, trying desperately to figure out what to say.

Ruiz comments on the smoothness of the gin. One of the friends reassures Ruiz that she is safe. Ruiz raises a toast to new beginnings before downing her entire glass. The spot closes with an image of an Aviation Gin bottle as we hear one of her friends says that she looks great.

It was a brilliant marketing move for Aviation Gin to hire Ruiz and hint at a continued storyline from the Peloton ad while it's still fresh in everyone's minds. With a little quick creative thinking, Aviation Gin has capitalized on a negative viral moment from a completely unrelated brand.
